Meet Kunle and Toun Balogun, the Lead Pastors of Broxbourne Community Church — a warm, welcoming and growing church at the heart of the vibrant Broxbourne community in Hertfordshire.
With a shared passion for God, people and community transformation, we are committed to helping individuals and families grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships and discover their God-given purpose through Jesus Christ.
Our Christian journey began in 1990, when we both committed our lives to Jesus Christ at the age of 21. Since that life-changing decision, our passion and commitment have remained steadfast: to share the transforming love, hope and liberating joy of knowing Jesus Christ with as many people as possible.
Over the years, this calling has shaped our lives, strengthened our faith and inspired our dedication to serving God and others. Throughout our Christian journey, we have also had the privilege of serving in various leadership roles within the churches we have been part of, gaining valuable experience in ministry, discipleship and pastoral care.
As Lead Pastors of Broxbourne Community Church, we provide spiritual oversight, with responsibility for preaching, teaching, nurturing spiritual growth and supporting the spiritual wellbeing and pastoral care of our congregation.
Alongside our pastoral responsibilities, Kunle brings his professional expertise as an IT consultant, while Toun serves as Executive Director of Chosen and Beloved, a charity connected to Broxbourne Community Church that supports victims and survivors of abuse, bringing hope, healing and restoration. She also oversees Precious One, our church-based community initiative, which seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families within our local community.
Beyond ministry, we are blessed to have shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Together, we have raised four children and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren, who continue to bring immense joy and blessing to our lives.
Above all, our heart is to see a thriving, Christ-centred church where everyone feels welcomed, valued and loved; a church where people grow in their relationship with God, discover their purpose and experience genuine fellowship, and where lives, families and communities are transformed through the power of God’s Word and His love.
